Overall Satisfied
I am overall satisfied with the website, the ease of searching for books on the website and definitely with the prices BUT I always have to use Amazon.com to get a detailed description of the book(s) that I am considering to purchase. Also, I do NOT like the fact that a buyer is NOT able to leave feedback on each seller -- there is 1 (one) seller that is receiving high marks (only because it'd be more expensive for the buyer to return the book) but I would NEVER, EVER buy from him again.

ABE and I have been friends since 1998
I have been both a seller of books on ABE and a consumer of their books since 1998. Book sellers tend to be a critical bunch so I can certainly find sellers who grouse about ABE policies, changes, etc. The most recent, and truly significant, is the news that Amazon.com has purchased ABE. It seems that ABE has been issuing coupons only since the Amazon transaction and my sales have certainly increased since then, so I have no complaint at all. ABE is the place to go if you are looking for a truly rare book, but you can also find bestsellers. You can also find advanced reading copies (ARCs) which in a way are true first editions, autographed copies of books and the books you grew up with that are now out of print. I have never been disappointed with a book I've bought on ABE and I've never had a disappointed customer. Run, don't walk, and check out the world of ABE books...you won't be sorry!

My Michigan
Abe books appears quite good. Other titles that I ordered were good overall. However this item from Ruffin has a bent front, is grubby, has pieces missing from the spine and that is only outside. Inside has a taped page top to bottom and a missing page over in the book farther. Several of the first few pages are sploched It is not worth it to return it. I will screen for this company and will not buy from Ruffin again.

I have been purchasing books from Abe Books for over 5 yrs now.
