Anyone know of a good deal for Gulf Shores Alabama in July 2009

We are planning a family vacation to Gulf Shores this July starting 7/18 but haven't ever been there before. Can anyone gives us some hints on where to stay that is nice and a good deal? We will need 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. Anything else you can tell us about Gulf Shores if you have vacationed there before that would be helpful we would appreciate.

Are there any travel deals sights for trains? I want to take a trip by train from Georgia to Massachusetts. I do not fly AT ALL. I also do not want to drive all that way. Can anyone help me?

Want to go to a beach area-live in Indiana

I just posted the Gulf Shores questions. We live in Indiana and wanted to go to a beach and Gulf Shores was about 778 miles-we are driving. If anyone knows of another nice beach area approx same mileage or better that has had a good experience, we are open to other suggestions. My daughter feels that Myrtle Beach is too crowded and commercial so thats another reason we were looking at Gulf Shores hoping to not be as crowded but in July we don't really know. Thanks.
