I just posted the Gulf Shores questions. We live in Indiana and wanted to go to a beach and Gulf Shores was about 778 miles-we are driving. If anyone knows of another nice beach area approx same mileage or better that has had a good experience, we are open to other suggestions. My daughter feels that Myrtle Beach is too crowded and commercial so thats another reason we were looking at Gulf Shores hoping to not be as crowded but in July we don't really know.  Thanks.

We live in Alabama and go to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach Area every year. It is no where close to what you find in Panama City in Florida with crowds and is a very clean enviroment. I am 27 and would go not go anywhere else to take my son and new baby. As for looking for condo's or beachhouse, this year we are using brbo.com to find our place just click on beach rentals and put in where you want to stay, it was referred to me by others who have used it. It shows dates available and rates and also has pictures of what you are renting. Hope this helps.
